About The Position

Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible General Gastroenterologist to join our expert team at Riverside Gastroenterology Specialists in Smithfield, Virginia. This is an outpatient-focused practice with inpatient coverage responsibilities, including call coverage at Riverside Smithfield Hospital. You will have support from advanced practice providers in both clinic and hospital settings, a strong primary care referral base, and utilize Epic EMR for documentation. There are also teaching opportunities with Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Medicine residents. New graduates are welcome and will receive mentorship and support.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
  • License to practice in Virginia
  • Current DEA certification

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive GI care in outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (colonoscopy, endoscopy, etc.)
  • Participate in inpatient consults and call coverage
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Educate patients on GI health, prevention, and treatment options
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring if desired
