Garage Valet
About The Position
The Garage Valet Attendant provides customer service by parking and retrieving customer vehicles. The role focuses on providing a positive, efficient, safe, and friendly parking experience and making a strong impression through interactions with guests and customers. Attendants park vehicles in designated spaces, keep track of vehicles and keys, help maintain an organized garage, and provide information about garage operations when requested. The position also includes assigned cleaning duties, following safety protocols and attendance policies, and helping facilitate the transition at the end of a shift.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing; able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
- Able to smile during customer interactions.
- Possess an upbeat personality, willingness to go the extra mile, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to move quickly and organize cars efficiently.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and pass a driving test on a manual transmission vehicle.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Be able to pass a criminal background check and RMV check.
- Ability to create relationships with customers.
- Be organized.
- Have a clean driving record deemed insurable by VPNE’s current insurance provider.
Responsibilities
- Keep the safety of self and others in mind at all times.
- Park customers’ vehicles safely and securely in designated parking spots, minimizing the potential for accidents.
- Keep track of keys and vehicles throughout the garage.
- Provide an exceptional guest experience through positive, friendly interactions.
- Maintain organization at the operation.
- Create a positive environment for customers and teammates.
- Use professional communication and VPNE-approved language choices.
- Help facilitate the transition at the end of the shift.
- Provide information about the garage, including hours of operation, rates, or special promotions, upon request.
- Maintain a neatly groomed appearance and meet uniform standards while on the job premises.
- Perform cleaning duties as assigned.
- Adhere to the VPNE attendance policy.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures, wear appropriate safety gear, and promptly report hazards or incidents.
- Fill out damage or accident reports.
