About The Position

This position involves learning, performing, and rotating between the positions of packer, scaler, styler, and grader to maintain line speeds on any given product at the designated rate for that product. The role requires working on a moving conveyor belt using both hands to spread or style product, performing multiple types of packing and weighing, and pulling bones from product. Additionally, the position involves inspecting and grading product, removing any that do not meet standards, and participating as a member of the team. Team participation includes contributing to the development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies, coordinating work for best practices, attending team meetings, fostering cohesiveness, and resolving issues. The role also requires familiarity with Simmons' operating systems (quality, security, office environment, company policies, LEAN) and understanding the impact of individual actions on these systems, as well as communicating concerns and improvement ideas. Other duties may be assigned to support business objectives. The job requires the ability to move, push, or pull up to 55 pounds, bend, stoop, walk, stand, and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for the entire shift, involving repetitive motion and potential rotation through cold and hot areas. Standard PPE includes waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, and slip-resistant footwear.

Requirements

• Must be able to move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for entire shift.
• Involves repetitive motion.
• May include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
• Requires standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, slip resistant footwear.
