About The Position

This position involves learning, performing, and rotating between the positions of packer, scaler, styler, and grader to maintain line speeds on any given product at the designated rate for that product. The role requires working on a moving conveyor belt using both hands to spread or style product, perform various packing and weighing tasks, pull bones from product, and inspect and remove product that does not meet standards. Teamwork and participation in ongoing development of team concepts, programs, and policies are essential. Employees are expected to be familiar with Simmons' operating systems, including quality, security, office environment, company policies, and LEAN principles, and understand their role in supporting these systems. The position also includes performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Requirements

• Must be able to move, push or pull up to 55 pounds from table to scales at waist level.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, walk, stand and work in a cold, wet, noisy, dusty environment for entire shift.
• This position involves repetitive motion.
• May include rotating through cold and hot areas of the plant.
• Requires standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, hearing protection, and slip resistant footwear.

• Preference for poultry or food processing organization experience.

Responsibilities

• Works on a moving conveyor belt using both hands.
• Spreads or styles product by hand on the belt.
• Performs multiple types of packing and weighing.
• Pulls bones from product; inspects, grades and removes product that does not meet standards.
• Participates as a member of the Team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems and understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity and support these systems.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
