About The Position

Scan Design is seeking an experienced driver and furniture assembler who can begin in a delivery role and progress toward team leadership. The employee will master high-end delivery routes and technical furniture assembly, with the opportunity to advance into overseeing field operations, mentoring crew members, and managing on-site client satisfaction. The role includes safely operating a box truck on local routes, performing pre-trip inspections, assembling high-end contemporary furniture to manufacturer specifications, delivering attentive client service, protecting property, and keeping the work area clean. It also involves safely handling furniture weighing up to 75 pounds regularly and inspecting products before loading and after assembly. As the employee develops into a lead, responsibilities include directing delivery helpers, leading client walkthroughs and final inspections, assisting with load planning and vehicle maintenance tracking, training new delivery staff, and helping resolve delivery or product issues in the field. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift. Candidates receiving a conditional offer must complete a background check and drug screening in accordance with applicable laws.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience safely operating a box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
Valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record; an MVR check is required.
Strong desire and demonstrated capacity to advance into a supervisory or lead role.
High proficiency with power and hand tools, ability to read assembly diagrams, and experience working with luxury furniture or high-end goods.
Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy furniture for more than 8 hours per day.
Excellent communication skills, a polished appearance, and punctuality.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a box truck on local routes, conduct daily pre-trip inspections, and maintain a clean driving record.
Assemble complex, high-end contemporary furniture according to manufacturer specifications.
Provide exceptional on-site customer service, protect client property, and leave a clean workspace.
Load, unload, and maneuver luxury furniture weighing up to 75 pounds regularly, including through tight hallways and stairwells.
Inspect furniture before loading and after assembly and promptly report discrepancies.
Direct on-site delivery helpers and delegate tasks to keep routes safe and on schedule.
Lead final client inspections, answer questions, resolve on-site concerns, and obtain service sign-offs.
Assist delivery and warehouse management with load planning, vehicle maintenance tracking, and training new delivery staff.
Act as the field liaison among clients, store managers, and warehouse operations to address delivery or product issues.
