Delivery Driver / Furniture Assembler
About The Position
CORT Furniture Rental is hiring a full-time, non-CDL Delivery Driver / Furniture Assembler in Memphis, Tennessee. As part of the Operations team, the driver loads and transports furniture to customers’ homes or offices, delivers and assembles it, and works to provide a positive customer experience. The role starts at the warehouse with a review of the route and safety topics, and may also include warehouse assistance loading and unloading furniture. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.; some flexibility and overtime may be required. Pay is $19.50–$21.50 per hour, depending on experience, with weekly pay and paid training. CORT is part of Berkshire Hathaway and provides furniture rental and other transition services.
Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
- At least 12 months of professional experience driving a 24-foot box truck or larger commercial vehicle.
- Ability and willingness to move furniture indoors and outdoors, up or down stairs, and in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift more than 100 pounds with a partner.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must pass drug screening and motor vehicle record checks as a condition of employment.
- Must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records.
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; CORT cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.

Responsibilities
- Meet with the Operations team at the warehouse to review the route and safety topics.
- Drive a 26-foot box truck with a lift gate to customers’ homes or offices.
- Unload, deliver, and install furniture while interacting with customers.
- Assist in the warehouse as needed, including loading and unloading furniture.
- Provide a positive customer experience.
