DOT Delivery Assistant
About The Position
Furniture Delivery Driver Assistants deliver and set up merchandise in customers’ homes. They perform delivery functions safely and professionally while staying on schedule and providing superior customer service. The role may also involve operating the delivery vehicle, loading and unloading products at customers’ homes, stores, or the warehouse, and assisting in the warehouse or showroom as needed. Shifts start at 7:30 a.m. and continue until completion; routes run four days per week, generally 10 or more hours per shift, with no Sunday routes. Starting pay is $19.50–$29.50 per hour based on experience.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must have a current driver’s license and a clean driving record with minimal moving violations.
- Must be willing and able to push, pull, and repeatedly team-lift 150 pounds throughout the shift.
- Must be able to achieve DOT certification; the company pays for certification.
- Must pass background requirements and a drug screen, including THC testing.
- Must successfully complete a physical assessment to be considered for the position.
- Must be able to move 150 pounds, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling furniture.
Nice To Haves
- Delivery experience is preferred, but not required; training is provided.
Responsibilities
- Operate the delivery vehicle, when needed, in a safe and courteous manner.
- Deliver and set up furniture in customers’ homes.
- Keep within customer delivery time windows.
- Accurately communicate and document delivery transactions using a mobile device or provided paperwork.
- Load and unload products as needed at customers’ homes, stores, or the warehouse.
- Assist in the warehouse or showroom as needed.
- Follow instructions and perform other duties requested by a supervisor.
