About The Position

Havertys is seeking energetic Delivery Assistants to help deliver and set up merchandise in customers’ homes. The role supports safe, professional, on-schedule deliveries and focuses on customer service, integrity, quality, and teamwork. Starting pay is $19.50–$29.50 per hour based on experience. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is paid in two installments: $500 after 30 days of employment and $500 after 90 days. Routes run four days per week, with shifts beginning at 7:30 a.m. and continuing until completion; routes do not run on Sundays. Delivery experience is not required, and training is provided. Employees may be asked to assist in the warehouse or showroom as needed.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a current driver’s license and a clean driving record with minimal moving violations.
Must be willing and able to push, pull, and repeatedly team-lift 150 pounds throughout the shift.
Must be able to achieve DOT certification; the company pays for certification.
Must pass background requirements and a drug screen, including THC testing.
Must successfully complete a physical assessment.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull furniture weighing up to 150 pounds.
Must wear Havertys-provided uniforms while driving or riding in Havertys delivery trucks; steel-toed work boots or shoes are required, along with safety gear when applicable.

Nice To Haves

Furniture delivery experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate the delivery vehicle, when needed, in a safe and courteous manner.
Deliver and set up furniture in customers’ homes.
Meet customer delivery time windows by maintaining high performance levels and staying on schedule.
Accurately communicate and document delivery transactions using a mobile device or provided paperwork.
Load or unload products at customers’ homes, stores, or the warehouse as needed.
Assist in the warehouse or showroom when needed.
Follow other instructions and perform other duties as requested by a supervisor.
