About The Position

Havertys is seeking bright, energetic Furniture Delivery Driver Assistants to help deliver and set up merchandise in customers’ homes. The role involves carrying out delivery functions safely and professionally while staying on schedule and providing superior customer service. Assistants may operate the delivery vehicle when needed, load and unload merchandise, and help in the warehouse or showroom as needed. Paid training is provided; delivery experience is preferred but not required. Pay is listed as starting at $21.50–$29.50 per hour with experience, and the earning opportunity section lists a driver base pay of $21.50–$31.50 per hour based on experience. The schedule starts at 7:30 a.m. and continues until work is completed. Routes run four days per week, with shifts of 10 hours or more, and do not run on Sundays.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
A current driver’s license is required.
Must have a clean driving record with minimal moving violations.
Must be willing and able to push, pull, and repeatedly team-lift 150 pounds throughout the shift.
Must be able to achieve DOT certification; the company pays for certification.
Must pass background requirements and a drug screen, including THC testing.
Must successfully complete a physical assessment.
Must be able to move 150 pounds, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling furniture.

Delivery experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Operate the delivery vehicle, when needed, in a safe and courteous manner.
Deliver and set up furniture in customers’ homes.
Stay within customer delivery time windows.
Accurately communicate and document delivery transactions using a mobile device or provided paperwork.
Load or unload products at customers’ homes, stores, or warehouse locations as needed.
Assist in the warehouse or showroom as needed.
Handle delivery materials and merchandise properly.
