About The Position

Havertys is seeking energetic Delivery Assistants to help deliver and set up merchandise in customers’ homes. The role supports delivery drivers in completing deliveries safely and professionally, staying on schedule, and providing superior customer service. Assistants may operate the delivery vehicle when needed, handle product loading and unloading, and help in the warehouse or showroom as needed. Paid training is provided; prior delivery experience is preferred but not required. Routes run four days per week, with shifts starting at 7:30 a.m. and continuing until completion. Routes do not run on Sundays. The stated starting pay is $19.50–$29.50 per hour, based on experience. Employees may be required to perform other duties as requested by a supervisor. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a current driver’s license and a clean driving record with minimal moving violations.
Must be willing and able to push, pull, and repeatedly team-lift 150 pounds throughout the shift.
Must be able to achieve DOT certification; the company pays for certification.
Must pass background requirements and a drug screen, including THC testing.
Must successfully complete a physical assessment.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull furniture weighing up to 150 pounds.
Must wear Havertys-provided uniforms and steel-toed work boots or shoes; safety gear is required when applicable.

Nice To Haves

Delivery experience is preferred, but not required; training is provided.

Responsibilities

Operate the delivery vehicle, when needed, in a safe and courteous manner.
Deliver and set up furniture in customers’ homes.
Meet customer delivery time windows and maintain high performance levels.
Accurately communicate and document delivery transactions using a mobile device or provided paperwork.
Load and unload products at customers’ homes, stores, or the warehouse as needed.
Assist in the warehouse or showroom as needed.
Follow other instructions and perform other duties requested by a supervisor.
