Industrial Furnace Technician Job Description Must be able to perform troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance on chemical and thermal carburizing, nitriding and vacuum furnaces. Must be proficient with 120VAC, 240VAC and 480VAC. Over 5 years verifiable electrical and mechanical experience in heat treat, associates degree or greater required. Diagnose and repair electronic/electrical systems, including 480V systems, AC/DC power supplies, component level circuit board, and complex integrated electrical systems. Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install equipment, including motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, and production line equipment in compliance with all plant policies and procedures. Discuss malfunctions and machine operation variations with operators, supervisors and/or other maintenance team members to diagnose problems and repair machine. Read wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, manuals and manufacturer’s specifications to repair equipment. Repair/Troubleshoot refrigeration systems Self-motivated to work independently with little or no supervision while also working well with the team. Experience on forklift and scissor lift helpful. Must have a good problem solving capability Generate and process work on a computerized maintenance management system Perform Lock Out Tag Out and comply to Austin’s Safe Work Practices Self-Directed with some direction by Senior and/ or Lead Technician Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
