About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on various types of powered and non-powered material handling equipment. This role involves working both indoors and outdoors and requires a strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools. The technician will be responsible for maintaining the production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished product for shipping. Safety is a top priority in this fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on various types of powered and non powered material handling equipment.
  • Work to be performed both indoors and outdoors.
  • Experienced with hand and power tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to maintain production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; staging finished product for shipping.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • 1-3 years mechanical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • Receives credit-return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product.
  • Documents product shipment by recording units shipped.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
  • Performs repairs and PMs on various types of material handling equipment.
  • Works at a fast pace with safety as the first priority.
  • Escorts vendors and subcontractors.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
