Furnace Technician - Austin Industrial - (Phoenix, AZ)
About The Position
Austin Industrial is seeking an experienced Furnace Technician to perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on chemical and thermal carburizing, nitriding, and vacuum furnaces. The role requires proficiency with various voltage systems (120VAC, 240VAC, and 480VAC) and involves diagnosing and repairing electronic/electrical systems, including AC/DC power supplies and complex integrated electrical systems. The technician will also troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install equipment such as motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, and production line equipment. This position requires the ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and manuals, as well as troubleshoot refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works well independently and with a team, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and can generate and process work using a computerized maintenance management system. Adherence to safety practices, including Lock Out Tag Out and Austin's Safe Work Practices, is mandatory. The role involves some direction from Senior and/or Lead Technicians.
Requirements
- Proficient with 120VAC, 240VAC and 480VAC.
- Over 5 years verifiable electrical and mechanical experience in heat treat.
- Associates degree or greater required.
- Must have a good problem solving capability.
- Self-Directed with some direction by Senior and/ or Lead Technician.
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
- Must pass drug screen and background check.
- Valid Driver's License.
Nice To Haves
- Experience on forklift and scissor lift helpful.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on chemical and thermal carburizing, nitriding, and vacuum furnaces.
- Diagnose and repair electronic/electrical systems, including 480V systems, AC/DC power supplies, component level circuit boards, and complex integrated electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install equipment, including motors, pneumatic & hydraulic components, and production line equipment in compliance with all plant policies and procedures.
- Discuss malfunctions and machine operation variations with operators, supervisors and/or other maintenance team members to diagnose problems and repair machines.
- Read wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications to repair equipment.
- Repair/Troubleshoot refrigeration systems.
- Generate and process work on a computerized maintenance management system.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out and comply to Austin’s Safe Work Practices.
