About The Position

Spring Grove Cemetery and Funeral Homes is seeking a part-time Funeral/Transfer Attendant for their Spring Grove location. This role is responsible for various pre and post-funeral activities to ensure the smooth execution of services and a high quality of care for families and visitors. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a professional demeanor, and a commitment to assisting those in need during a difficult time. The position involves supporting the preparation, execution, and clean-up of funeral services.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
Ability to stand, squat, and operate a vehicle.
Displays a “Customer First” Attitude.

Responsibilities

Greet and direct visitors during scheduled calling hours.
Assist Funeral Directors with visitation and funeral service set-up and support.
Assist with floral placements.
Perform general cleaning of the funeral home (dusting, mopping, sweeping, etc.).
Perform various miscellaneous tasks as directed.
Transport the deceased from various locations (hospital, nursing home, residence, prep rooms, or embalming facilities) to the funeral home.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Interface with customers in-person.
Operate a vehicle.
Handle chemicals for cleaning multiple areas and vehicles.
