About The Position

Hiring for a Funeral Director in Erie PA. This is working for an established, well-known Funeral Home, that is reputable and well-liked in the community. We need a director that can demonstrate strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills, while overseeing staff and client needs. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Leader who wants a long-term career, working for a company that values it's employees, and it shows! We are offering relocation services/assistance for anyone living outside this area. We have available positions for an Experienced/Seasoned Funeral Director and an opening for a newly Licensed Funeral Director (someone that recently completed an Apprenticeship).

Requirements

Associate Degree in Funeral Service Education or Mortuary Science
Must be a Licensed Funeral Director in Pennsylvania
Ability to work with grieving families in a calm, professional manner.
Planning, scheduling, and managing complex service details, often with limited time.
Experience with Microsoft Office and case management software.
Must live within a reasonable distance of Erie PA. or be willing to relocate to the area!

Responsibilities

Meeting with families to plan funeral services, cremation, or burials.
Preparing, filing, and managing legal documents, such as death certificates and burial permits.
Coordinating transport of remains and scheduling funeral services.
Assisting families with post-funeral tasks.
Interacting with families, clergy, and staff to coordinate services.
Overseeing staff and client needs.
Assisting when moving caskets or remains.
