Funeral Attendant
About The Position
At Everstory Partners, the Funeral Attendant supports families experiencing loss by assisting the funeral team with transportation of loved ones into the company’s care and serving as an attendant during services. The role maintains clean facilities, assists with services, drives vehicles, and may help with legal and administrative matters related to funeral service. Under the supervision of a licensed Funeral Director, the attendant can learn about the industry and work toward a career in death care. The position requires availability for some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed. The posting describes benefits for full-time employees. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in client relations, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong desire to start a career in mortuary science or end-of-life planning.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with others in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of concentration and attention for a continuous period.
- Ability to occasionally stand and walk, and frequently lift or push.
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Maintain funeral home facilities, including dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning.
- Assist with funeral services and visitations, including greeting visitors, coordinating pallbearers, and arranging transportation and parking.
- Transport individuals with extreme care.
- Assist with functions related to coordinating legal and administrative matters associated with funeral service.
- Perform other related functions as assigned.
