About The Position

The Fuel Cashier is a key member of the store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests at a TravelCenters of America travel center. The role serves customers courteously, quickly, and efficiently while processing large diesel fuel transactions and handling a variety of other store transactions. The position works in a customer-service-focused environment and may involve exposure to outdoor elements and other conditions common to a travel center.

Requirements

• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Process large diesel fuel transactions on a point-of-sale (POS) register, handling cash, checks, and credit cards.
• Handle customer transactions involving merchandise, truck scales, shower reservations, communications, and personal check-cashing.
• Prioritize work according to customer and management needs.
• Know and follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members or customers.
• Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
