About The Position

The Fuel Cashier is a key member of the TravelCenters of America store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests. The role serves customers courteously, quickly, efficiently, and with a positive attitude while helping ensure travelers can continue their journeys. The position processes large diesel fuel transactions at a point-of-sale register and handles cash, checks, and credit cards. It also involves multitasking across merchandise transactions, truck scales, shower reservations, communications, and personal check-cashing. Fuel Cashiers prioritize work according to customer and management needs, follow safety guidelines, report potentially unsafe situations, and communicate with leaders and coworkers. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Good verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer/POS knowledge.
Cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
Process large diesel fuel transactions on a point-of-sale register, handling payments in cash, checks, and credit cards.
Multitask customer transactions involving merchandise, truck scales, shower reservations, communications, and personal check-cashing.
Prioritize work according to customer and management needs.
Know and follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members and customers.
Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and coworkers.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
