About The Position
The Fuel Cashier is a key member of the store team, primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests. The role supports TravelCenters of America’s one-stop shopping experience, helping travelers return to the road better than they came. The team member works in a customer-focused environment and processes fuel and other customer transactions while following safety guidelines and communicating with team members and leaders.
Requirements
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Basic computer/POS knowledge preferred.
- Cash handling skills preferred.
- A dedicated individual who works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.
Responsibilities
- Serve each customer courteously, quickly, and efficiently with a sincere, positive, pleasant, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Process large diesel fuel transactions on a point-of-sale register, handling cash, checks, and credit cards.
- Multi-task customer transactions involving merchandise, truck scales, shower reservations, communications, and personal check-cashing.
- Prioritize work according to customer and management needs.
- Know and follow safety guidelines and report potentially unsafe situations caused by team members and customers.
- Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
