Frontend Engineer

Retool is seeking a highly collaborative front-end engineer to join their small but mighty engineering team. As a front-end engineer, you will be responsible for building and extending the core functionality of Retool's application editor, ensuring it is performant, usable, and powerful. You will work closely with the design team to craft a product that delights users and will have the opportunity to contribute to the product roadmap. This role requires expertise in React, Typescript, and Node.js, and offers the chance to make a significant impact on the growth of Retool.

• Collaborate closely with the design team to craft a product that delights users
• Extend the core functionality of the application editor with attention to detail and an understanding of performance implications
• Experiment with Core React functionality, Web Workers, and WebAssembly to keep Retool fast
• Scope, build, test, document, and ship new features to production based on customer ideas
• Contribute to the product roadmap collaboratively with design and engineering
• Work primarily in React and Typescript with a Node.js backend
• Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, customer engineers, support engineers, marketing, and sales teams
• Make product decisions and partner with designers in scoping and building projects
• Work in a hard-working and passionate team motivated by collaboration, strong results, and bringing impact to customers.

• Experience as a front-end engineer
• Ability to collaborate with design team to create user-friendly products
