About The Position

The Front End/Utility Clerk creates an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service and helps establish and maintain a safe, clean environment that encourages customers to return. The role supports the Customer 1st strategy and encourages associates to deliver excellent customer service. The clerk demonstrates the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others. The position involves assisting customers with questions about products, maintaining cleanliness inside the store and in the parking lot, supporting safety programs, inspecting equipment, and communicating concerns or incidents to management. The clerk collaborates with team members and follows applicable laws and company guidelines. Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Promote trust and respect among associates.
Create a welcoming environment for customers and answer questions about products sold in the department and throughout the store.
Gain and maintain knowledge of products and respond to questions or make product suggestions.
Clean spills and collect and pick up trash inside the store and in the parking lot.
Maintain the cleanliness of the department and other assigned areas.
Display a positive attitude.
Reinforce safety programs by following safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying store management.
Inspect equipment as part of preventive maintenance and notify the appropriate department or store manager of items needing repair.
Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
Report safety risks or issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
Collaborate with team members to encourage teamwork.
Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
