About The Position

North Texas Fleet Services is seeking a Front End Technician to diagnose and repair medium-duty trucks. The role focuses on front-end and suspension work, electrical troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, safety inspections, and repair documentation. Technicians use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve vehicle issues. The work may take place outdoors and under extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, and humidity. First- and second-shift schedules are available. Pay is $35–$40 per hour or flat-rate, depending on experience.

Requirements

At least 2 years of hands-on experience working on medium-duty trucks, such as Class 3–7 vehicles.
Ability to read electrical schematics.
Proficiency with digital multimeters and hand and power tools.
Ability to perform alignments.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on one’s feet or under vehicles.
Ability to complete all physical requirements of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

CDL Class B, or willingness to obtain one.
High school education or equivalent.
Certifications.
Welding experience.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair steering linkages, tie rods, drag links, kingpins, wheel bearings, ball joints, and shock absorbers; perform alignments.
Troubleshoot and repair 12V/24V chassis wiring, multiplexing systems, lighting harnesses, starter and alternator issues, dash clusters, and CAN-bus communication faults.
Perform air-conditioning work and use diagnostic equipment to assess A/C systems.
Use multimeters, test lights, and OEM or aftermarket diagnostic software, including Cummins and Ford/GM commercial software, to isolate and clear codes.
Perform multi-point vehicle safety inspections, maintain accurate repair orders, and follow OSHA and shop safety standards.
