About The Position

Assist customers and process sales while demonstrating the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety. The role may include cashier, store accounting, and customer service desk duties. The position requires working cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment, managing conflict reasonably and cooperatively, protecting customer and business information, following directions, and seeking assistance when needed. It also involves supporting minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults through direct interaction. Essential functions must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
Six months of cashier experience to work at the Customer Service Desk.
Minimum age of 18; 19 in Idaho; 19 in Alaska if selling tobacco.
Ability to pass a drug test.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work weekends regularly, any shift, and overtime as needed.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects.
Accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
Related retail experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver and encourage excellent customer service.
Perform cashier functions, including opening and closing registers, ringing sales, completing tender transactions, bagging merchandise, making money drops, and using produce codes.
Complete the file maintenance log for price discrepancies.
Maintain the cleanliness of the checkstand area to housekeeping standards.
Answer telephones.
Comply with corporate policies and promote and follow company initiatives.
Verify Electronic Article Surveillance tags are deactivated or removed at the point of sale; respond to pedestal activations and verify tag removal as necessary.
Maintain store accounting functions and prepare bank deposits of excess cash and checks.
Open and close the customer service desk.
Process refunds, exchanges, money orders and transfers, bill payments, gift cards, purchase orders, and equipment rentals.
Provide lottery service except in Alaska, and issue fish and game licenses.
Send and receive faxes.
Administer lost and found.
Run vendor reports.
