About The Position
Heinen’s is hiring a part-time Front End Associate for up to 29 hours per week. Hours vary across the week, including weekends and evenings, with varying shifts listed as Sunday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The role offers an opportunity for promotion. Associates are expected to uphold Heinen’s Diamond Difference Standards by maintaining a professional appearance, acknowledging and engaging customers, evaluating store conditions using the 5-Step QCSSS (Quality, Cleanliness, Stock Levels, Signage, and Serviceable), and recognizing coworkers’ efforts.
Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A sense of urgency and ability to work independently to complete daily tasks.
- Ability to comply with company policies and standards.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work continuously on repetitive tasks while standing.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to work the hours required to meet company objectives, including additional time when business needs occasionally require it.
- Willingness to work a non-traditional five-day schedule, including Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings.
Responsibilities
- Operate scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics.
- Accept payments and ensure prices and quantities are accurate.
- Follow store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, and purchases of specific items such as alcohol.
- Pack items according to company standards.
- Acquire and share knowledge of the store.
- Prioritize daily work based on changing business needs.
- Attend required corporate meetings and training classes.
- Comply with personal and food safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a professional appearance and acknowledge and engage customers appropriately.
- Continuously evaluate store conditions using the 5-Step QCSSS.
- Thank coworkers for work well done to reinforce positive behaviors and support the team.
