About The Position

Touchstone is seeking enthusiastic and friendly Front Desk Staff members for Hollywood Boulders. The role serves as the first point of contact for members and guests, helping create a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive climbing community. Staff provide information, support smooth gym operations, and help climbers of all levels have a positive experience. This is a part-time position working no more than 30 hours per week.

Requirements

• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, with no exceptions.
• Passion for climbing and knowledge of climbing terminology and safety practices.
• Ability to remain friendly and calm while managing customer needs in a variety of situations.
• Self-directed and motivated, with willingness to take initiative on needed tasks.
• Comfort and proficiency working with computers and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service, service industry, or office management experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure visitors complete required waivers, check in, and follow gym policies.
• Welcome visitors, answer phone calls, and respond to emails at the front desk.
• Process memberships and online transactions.
• Manage calendar reservations.
• Address customer service challenges, respond to feedback, and resolve issues professionally.
• Sell merchandise and climbing gear in the retail shop.
• Help ensure climbing and gym safety standards are met, providing guidance professionally when needed.
• Maintain a clean gym and complete cleaning tasks.
• Support other team members and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Potentially work with communities and classes if interested and opportunities become available.
