About The Position

Touchstone is seeking enthusiastic and friendly Front Desk Staff to welcome members and guests, provide information, and help ensure smooth gym operations. The role supports a welcoming and inclusive climbing community. This is a part-time position of no more than 30 hours per week at Verdigo Boulders in Burbank, California. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour; individual compensation decisions may depend on factors including facility location and type, membership volume, experience, and job or position tenure.

Requirements

• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends, with no exceptions.
• Passion for climbing and knowledge of climbing terminology and safety practices.
• Ability to remain friendly and calm while managing customer needs in varied situations.
• Self-directed and motivated, with willingness to identify and complete needed tasks.
• Comfort and proficiency using computers and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service, service industry, or office management experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure visitors complete required waivers, check in, and follow gym policies.
• Welcome visitors, answer phone calls, and respond to emails at the front desk.
• Process memberships and online transactions.
• Manage calendar reservations.
• Address customer service challenges and feedback, resolving issues professionally.
• Sell merchandise and climbing gear in the retail shop.
• Help ensure climbing and gym safety standards are met, providing guidance professionally when needed.
• Maintain a clean gym and complete cleaning tasks.
• Support teammates and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Potentially work with communities and classes if interested and opportunities become available.
