Incumbents in this classification are responsible for providing routine clerical duties, including answering telephones, greeting and assisting visitors, filing, performing data entry, and distributing mail. This is a stand-alone GRANT-FUNDED position within the Community Development - Office of Family Empowerment department. The role involves performing various routine clerical duties utilizing standard office procedures and equipment, such as screening incoming calls, taking messages, maintaining calendars, keyboarding information into databases, making photocopies, performing data entry, faxing documents, typing/word processing, managing inventory/supplies, and greeting the public. The position also involves responding to information requests, answering routine questions, and directing callers to appropriate departments. Filing documents, receiving, sorting, and distributing correspondence, and monitoring/restocking office supplies are also key responsibilities. The role may also assist as a primary backup for the Administrative Support Assistant and requires meeting regular attendance requirements and maintaining good interpersonal relationships.
