About The Position

Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Freshman Volleyball Coach for the 26-27 school year. This position involves coaching student athletes, developing strategies to improve play, and contributing to a positive school climate. The coach will work collaboratively with administration, staff, and other coaches to support student success and encourage participation in sports.

Requirements

Successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school level.
Background that includes a high level of volleyball knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of best practices in coaching.
Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
Ability to work cooperatively with administration and staff.
Possess strong organizational, motivational, discipline and fundamental teaching skills.
Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

Coach student athletes in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.
Encourage student participation in the sport.
Utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
Work with other coaches by supporting and encouraging students to participate in other sports.
Communicate with players, parents, and other coaches.
Contribute to a professional learning team of varsity coaches.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
