About The Position
Hemlock Public School District is seeking a Freshman Volleyball Coach for the 26-27 school year. This role involves coaching student athletes, developing strategies to improve play, and contributing to a positive school climate. The coach will work collaboratively with administration, staff, and other coaches to encourage student participation and success in the sport.
Requirements
- Successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school level. Alternate qualifications may be considered.
- Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.
- Background that includes a high level of volleyball knowledge.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of best practices in coaching.
- Experience working as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organizational, motivational, discipline and fundamental teaching skills.
Responsibilities
- Coach student athletes in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
- Develop and use strategies to improve individual and team play.
- Encourage student participation in the sport.
- Utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
- Support and encourage students to participate in other sports.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other coaches.
- Contribute to a professional learning team of varsity coaches.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.
