Fresh Cut Department Clerk - Full Time
About The Position
The Fresh Cut Department Clerk maintains outstanding guest service while preparing fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads for the fresh cut sales area. The role supports sales through product preparation and merchandising, maintains product quality and availability, and supports the store management team. The clerk follows food and workplace safety regulations and maintains the safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the work area, cooler, and equipment. Regular on-site attendance is required. Duties may be expanded to include other tasks assigned by store or department management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food preparation, produce department, and retail store experience preferred.
- Willingness to learn.
- Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to service excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills, organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
- Regular on-site attendance is required.
- Ability to stand for an extended period.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds frequently.
- Ability to use knives and other equipment and to move and handle product boxes throughout the store.

Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service to each guest and handle guest interactions tactfully and pleasantly.
- Prepare fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads for the fresh cut sales area using correct product preparation techniques.
- Maintain product quality, freshness, selection, and quantities appropriate to expected sales.
- Comply with food safety and workplace safety rules and regulations.
- Operate related equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, knives, safety cutters, cut-resistant gloves, scales, garbage disposals, and sinks.
- Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the work area, cooler, and equipment.
- Assist in training and developing peers.
- Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards, and maintain an orderly department appearance and uniform.
- Perform duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
- Perform other tasks assigned by store or department management.
