Fresh Cut Department Clerk - Full Time
About The Position
The Fresh Cut Department Clerk maintains outstanding guest service, prepares fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads for the fresh cut sales area, generates sales, merchandises products, and supports the store management team. The role requires preparing products to meet quality, freshness, selection, and quantity expectations while following food and workplace safety requirements. The clerk maintains a clean, sanitary, orderly work area, cooler, equipment, department, and uniform, and performs all duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. The clerk may assist with training peers, address guest needs, and perform other tasks assigned by store or department management. Regular on-site attendance is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food preparation, produce department, and retail store experience preferred.
- Willingness to learn and ability to work as a solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to service excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills, organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
- Regular on-site attendance is required.
- Ability to stand for an extended period.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds frequently.
- Ability to use knives and other equipment.

Responsibilities

- Use correct product preparation techniques and operate related equipment.
- Maintain the safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of the work area, cooler, and equipment.
- Assist in training and developing peers and deal tactfully and pleasantly with guests.
- Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards and maintain an orderly department and uniform.
- Perform job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by store or department management.
- Move and handle product boxes throughout the store, including lifting.
