About The Position

The Freight Records Specialist manages and audits transportation documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely data entry. They verify shipment manifests, bills of lading (BOL’S), and freight rates, linking warehouse, accounting, and logistics teams to reconcile inventory and delivery records.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years in shipping, receiving, logistics, or administrative records management
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experience using logistics tracking and management systems.
  • High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Process, review, and file shipping documents (bills of lading, delivery receipts, and customs declarations)
  • Accurately input shipment data—such as weight, freight charges, and item descriptions—into company databases or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Audit carrier invoices and shipping bills; identify overcharges, missing freight, or damages and file claims accordingly.
  • Ensure all freight documentation meets federal, state, and internal regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, and customs).
  • Communicate with truck drivers, third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and customers to track deliveries and address any transit issues.
