About The Position

A Freight Forwarder - Ocean Import manages ocean import and export shipments and coordinates the logistics process, including customs clearance, carrier bookings, cargo tracking, documentation, and delivery or pickup. The role works with carriers, customs brokers, trucking companies, customers, and internal teams to support timely and efficient shipment movement and service delivery. It also maintains customer relationships, provides shipment updates, and ensures compliance with applicable customs regulations and trade laws.

Requirements

• Fluency in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of ocean freight logistics and customs regulations.
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage ocean imports, including customs clearance and delivery to the final destination.
• Manage ocean exports, including carrier bookings and movement of goods through transportation channels.
• Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to support timely delivery.
• Prepare, process, and submit customs-clearance documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.
• Manage customer relationships, address concerns or issues, and support customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with logistics, finance, operations, and other internal departments to deliver services efficiently and on time.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
