About The Position

A Freight Forwarder, Air Export manages and coordinates the exportation of goods by air, including documentation, scheduling, shipment tracking, and communication with customers and third-party service providers. The role requires strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills and effective communication to manage customer relationships and satisfaction. The position is based in Herndon, Virginia, in the Air & Sea division, and is full-time.

Requirements

• Prior experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or a related field is preferred; freight-forwarding experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and rates.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of air-freight logistics and customs regulations.
• Understanding of trade laws and regulations.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of additional languages.
• Experience with logistics software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate air export shipments, including airline scheduling and movement of goods through transportation channels.
• Prepare and process customs-clearance documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
• Track and monitor shipments and provide customers with regular status updates.
• Manage customer relationships, ensure satisfaction, and address concerns or issues.
• Collaborate with logistics, finance, operations, and other internal departments to deliver timely and efficient service.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
