About The Position

Allen Lund Company is seeking Transportation Brokers to manage incoming and outgoing shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. The role includes acquiring customers, developing profitable relationships with shippers and carriers, addressing customer issues, coordinating freight brokerage and load bookings, and completing documentation for freight bills. Brokers perform daily check calls on loads in transit, use market-rate knowledge to support pricing and negotiation, and uphold the company's customer, company, and office principles. Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in freight brokerage/customer service.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who can excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer-service orientation and excellent work ethic.
• Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle conflict.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to process information quickly, make decisions, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact prospective customers and acquire new customers.
• Develop profitable volume with existing and newly acquired shippers and build relationships with developing accounts.
• Understand customers' businesses and identify and solve their problems.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Contact carriers and build relationships to increase capacity for specific projects and lanes and for the office and company overall.
• Maintain current knowledge of market freight rates to determine fair prices to pay carriers and charge shippers.
• Offer rates established by Senior Transportation Brokers and management, and negotiate as market conditions demand.
• Recommend customer solutions to Senior Transportation Brokers and/or management.
• Perform daily check calls on loads in transit and originate documentation for freight bills.
• Handle freight brokerage and book loads.
• Follow company standards and the principles of Customer, Company, Office.
