About The Position

Allen Lund Company is hiring Transportation Brokers to manage incoming and outgoing shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. The role involves acquiring customers, developing profitable shipper relationships, building carrier capacity, and negotiating freight rates. Brokers also handle freight brokerage and load booking, perform daily check calls on loads in transit, respond to customer issues and inquiries, and prepare documentation for freight bills. The position operates in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and follows the company's principles of Customer, Company, Office.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight brokerage/customer service.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic.
• Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle conflict.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to quickly process information, make decisions, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Contact prospective customers and acquire new customers.
• Develop profitable volume with existing and newly acquired shippers and build relationships with developing accounts.
• Understand customers' businesses to identify and solve their problems.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Build relationships with carriers to increase capacity for specific projects and lanes.
• Maintain current knowledge of market freight rates to determine fair prices for trucks and shippers.
• Offer rates established by Senior Transportation Brokers and management, negotiating as market demands.
• Recommend solutions to customers to Senior Transportation Brokers and/or management.
• Perform daily check calls on loads in transit and originate documentation for freight bills.
• Handle freight brokerage and book loads.
• Follow company standards and principles of Customer, Company, Office.
