About The Position

Allen Lund Company is seeking Transportation Brokers to manage shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. The role involves daily check calls on loads in transit, responding to customer issues and inquiries, and preparing documentation for freight bills. Brokers also acquire and develop customer relationships, expand carrier capacity, negotiate freight rates, and handle freight brokerage and load booking in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in freight brokerage or customer service.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who can excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic.
• Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, including the ability to handle conflict.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to process information quickly, make decisions, and work well under pressure.
• Excellent and effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• College degree is highly desired, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Contact prospective customers and acquire new customers.
• Develop profitable business with existing and newly acquired shippers and build relationships with developing accounts.
• Understand customers’ businesses to identify and solve their problems.
• Deliver exceptional customer service.
• Build carrier relationships and increase capacity for projects and shipping lanes.
• Stay informed about market freight rates and determine fair rates to pay carriers and charge shippers.
• Offer rates established by Senior Transportation Brokers and management, negotiating as market demands.
• Recommend customer solutions to Senior Transportation Brokers or management.
• Perform daily check calls on loads in transit and prepare freight-bill documentation.
• Handle freight brokerage and book loads.
• Follow company standards and principles of Customer, Company, Office.
