Freezer & Dairy Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, product rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and compliance with food safety standards while delivering excellent service to Members. The clerk helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the overall success of the perishables team. The position involves stocking products according to company planograms; monitoring temperature control and replenishing items; rotating products using FIFO procedures; checking product dates and condition; and cleaning coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving. The clerk also supports inventory availability, verifies signage and pricing, assists with seasonal merchandising, follows company policies, and provides additional support across departments as needed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is expected.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of cold chain management, food safety standards, and product handling requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
- Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
- Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
- Exposure to temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas.
- Potential exposure to cleaning agents and frozen or dairy-related allergens.
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and email.
Responsibilities
- Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
- Monitor cold chain integrity and temperature control, and replenish low or missing items.
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Inspect products for expiration dates and condition, and remove damaged or outdated items.
- Follow food safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
- Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain product availability.
- Verify that items are correctly signed and priced.
- Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
- Follow company policies and procedures for dairy and freezer operations.
- Perform other duties and provide additional support across departments as needed.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Engage with Members in a friendly and helpful manner; respond to questions or concerns and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor when necessary.
- Meet service standards and contribute to club goals through accurate, consistent, and efficient work.
- Use supplies responsibly and follow scheduling expectations.
