Dairy & Freezer Clerk Part Time
About The Position
The Dairy & Freezer Clerk maintains the dairy and freezer sections by ensuring proper stocking, product rotation, and product integrity. The role supports merchandising, inventory management, and food-safety compliance while providing excellent service to Members. The clerk helps keep the department organized and efficient and contributes to the success of the perishables team. The position involves stocking products according to company planograms, monitoring cold-chain conditions and availability, rotating items using FIFO procedures, checking dates and product condition, and maintaining sanitation. The clerk also verifies signage and pricing, supports seasonal merchandising, follows company policies and procedures, and provides additional departmental support as assigned. Regular, predictable, full attendance is expected.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of cold-chain management, food-safety standards, and product-handling requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multitasking skills.
- Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces.
- Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds; occasional heavier lifting with assistance.
- Ability to work around temperature variations in refrigerated and freezer storage areas and potential exposure to cleaning agents and dairy- or frozen-product-related allergens.
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year of experience in dairy, freezer, grocery, or retail operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and email.
Responsibilities
- Stock dairy and freezer products according to company planograms.
- Monitor temperature control and replenish low or missing items to support cold-chain integrity, freshness, and availability.
- Rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Inspect product dates and condition, removing damaged or outdated items.
- Follow food-safety and sanitation standards, including routine cleaning of coolers, freezers, equipment, and shelving.
- Monitor in-stock levels and assist with replenishment to maintain a full and shoppable department.
- Verify that items are correctly signed and priced.
- Assist with seasonal transitions and merchandising plans.
- Execute department operations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and provide support across departments as assigned.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Provide friendly, helpful service to Members; respond to questions or concerns and escalate unresolved issues to a supervisor.
- Contribute to team engagement, club standards, department performance, and efficient use of supplies and labor.
