About The Position

CETRA Language Solutions is seeking reliable and professional independent contractor interpreters for active, community-based assignments in and around South Plainfield, New Jersey. Opportunities are available for Bengali, Igbo, Hebrew, Tagalog, and Urdu interpreters. The role is suited to individuals fluent in English and at least one of the listed languages who enjoy supporting diverse communities. Interpreting is provided in person for assignments such as social services or local appointments.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and at least one of the following languages: Bengali, Igbo, Hebrew, Tagalog, or Urdu, including spoken communication and comprehension.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally in and around South Plainfield, New Jersey.
• Professional demeanor and dependability.

Nice To Haves

• Prior interpretation experience is preferred.
• Community, medical, or social-services experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, in-person interpretation in the assigned language pair for community-based assignments, such as social services or local appointments.
• Facilitate clear communication between clients who speak the interpreted language and English-speaking providers.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics standards.
• Arrive on time and be prepared for scheduled assignments.
