Founding Product Growth Engineer

Happyrobot Inc.•San Francisco, CA
•$170,000 - $220,000

About The Position

HappyRobot is hiring a Founding Product Growth Engineer to own how its product is understood, positioned, and adopted in the market. The role works directly with the CTO and Head of Product, and sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Sales, and Growth. The successful candidate will translate the company’s product capabilities into compelling stories for buyers and users, then test what drives adoption. This is an opportunity to build a function from the ground up in a small, fast-moving team with substantial ownership and autonomy. HappyRobot provides infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI workforces. Its AI workers communicate through voice and email, make decisions, take action, and operate across enterprise systems. The company was born in Y Combinator (S23), has raised over $200M, and serves global enterprises. It began in logistics and developed its voice stack, models, and orchestration layer in-house.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in product marketing, growth, or a related role such as product management or consulting at a high-growth B2B SaaS, AI, or developer-focused company.
  • A track record of launching products or features from start to finish, with strong writing and copywriting skills.
  • Experience aligning Product, Engineering, and Sales or GTM teams around a shared message.

  • Strong product and design sense, a high bar for quality, and the ability to write clearly and persuasively.
  • Technical intuition to engage in product discussions and become fluent in how the product works; an engineering background is not required.
  • Comfort with both storytelling and designing tests, interpreting results, and iterating.
  • Self-starter who can work with an undefined path, build something new, and move quickly with high ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Own product positioning and narrative, translating complex capabilities into clear messaging for different audiences and maintaining consistency across the website, launches, and sales conversations.
  • Lead product and feature launches end to end, partnering with Product and Engineering on timing and messaging and equipping Sales and the field with narratives, assets, and materials.
  • Identify and test channels for reaching the target audience; work on activation, onboarding, and conversion messaging; run funnel experiments and build on successful approaches.
  • Regularly speak with users and customers to understand their needs, objections, and mental models.
  • Monitor competitors and the broader market, and bring insights into product and marketing decisions.
