Founding Marketer

IdeogramToronto, ON

About The Position

Ideogram is hiring its first Founding Marketer to own new media: an embedded storytelling function that turns launches, product ideas, founder perspective, customer insights, and conversational moments into compelling narratives across the channels our audience already follows. Until now, marketing has lived inside product, design, engineering, and GTM — the team closest to the work have been telling the story themselves. That scrappy approach has taken us far, including a strong Ideogram 4.0 launch. Now we’re ready for someone whose dedicated role is to sharpen how Ideogram shows up in the world and help more people understand what we’re building.

Requirements

  • A storyteller who operates like a builder, with strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to bring a team and audience around a clear narrative.
  • Someone who has built a brand, helped shape one up close, and/or built a meaningful personal presence of their own.
  • A strong understanding of new media: direct, fast-moving, audience-aware, and less dependent on traditional gatekeepers.
  • A hands-on operator who is willing to draft the post, shape the landing page, or test the idea directly.
  • Experience using AI tools in a creative or marketing workflow — whether image generation tools like Midjourney, Ideogram, or similar products, or tools like Claude Code and Codex to move faster on execution.
  • Curiosity, taste, and evidence of doing the work. A creative background is helpful, but a conventional resume matters less.

Responsibilities

  • Shape Ideogram’s story across X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other channels where our audience is already paying attention.
  • Work directly with our CEO and partner closely with product, design, creative, and GTM teams to turn launches, customer insights, product moments, and founder perspective into compelling narratives.
  • Create a repeatable system for how Ideogram communicates that favors speed and authenticity over layers of approval, while still protecting the things that matter.
  • Stay close to the work by writing copy, drafting posts, shaping landing pages, storyboarding videos, and talking to influencers or creators when it makes sense.
  • Use the support around you well, including designers, creative partners, video editors, contractors, and agencies, while helping define what this function can become as it grows.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and equity designed to recognize the value and impact of your contributions to Ideogram’s success.
  • 4 weeks of vacation to recharge and explore.
  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage starting on day one.
  • RRSP/401(k) with employer match up to 4% to invest in your future from the moment you join.
  • Top-of-the-line tools and tech to fuel your creativity and productivity.
  • Toronto HQ perks: Steps from Union Station and the PATH, with daily in-office lunches and dinners.
  • Autonomy to explore and experiment — whether you’re testing new ideas, running large-scale experiments, or diving into research, you’ll have access to compute/resources you need when there’s a clear business or creative use case. We encourage curiosity and bold thinking.
  • A culture of learning and growth, where curiosity is encouraged and mentorship is part of the journey.
