Founding IT Operations
About The Position
Rilla is seeking a Founding IT Operations professional to establish and manage the company's IT and compliance infrastructure. This role is crucial for scaling the business and ensuring the trust of its customers. The individual will be responsible for maintaining SOC 2 compliance and driving HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 certifications from the ground up. The primary goal is to transform manual compliance processes into an automated, AI-native system. This position sits within the BizOps team and requires collaboration across engineering, HR, legal, and leadership. The role also involves owning the IT foundation, including device management, network troubleshooting, and general IT operations, with the opportunity to design these systems from scratch.
Requirements
- A strong technical foundation. A computer science background or equivalent hands-on technical ability
- Genuine fluency with AI tools, and a track record of using them to automate real work
- Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
- Comfort shipping in ambiguity, with a bias for driving clarity and removing blockers
- The judgment to operate in regulated systems where the details matter
Nice To Haves
- Prior compliance experience, SOC 2 at minimum
- Hands-on experience with HIPAA, GDPR, or ISO 27001
- Experience standing up IT or device management for a growing team

Responsibilities
- Own and maintain SOC 2, and drive HIPAA, GDPR, and ISO 27001 to completion
- Automate compliance workflows with AI so audit readiness is continuous, not a scramble
- Build the systems, evidence pipelines, and processes that let us operate in regulated environments at speed
- Translate between engineering, HR, legal, and leadership. Turning ambiguous requirements into clear, tracked, delivered work
- Own device management, network troubleshooting, and day-to-day IT operations
- Stand up our IT foundation from scratch and choose the tooling we'll grow into
- Create clear, trusted visibility into compliance and IT status for leadership
- Hold vendors and auditors accountable to timelines and outcomes
