Founding Business Development Representative (AE track)

PolicyLift•Tampa, FL
•$60,000 - $100,000

About The Position

PolicyLift is hiring a founding member of its business development team to generate qualified demos and build pipeline with independent property and casualty insurance agencies. This is an outbound sales development role, not an inbound-only, full-cycle, or account-management position. The representative will primarily call agency owners, engage prospects, and book demos, while also managing marketing replies, triaging inbound leads, acting on buying signals, maintaining HubSpot data, and sharing market feedback to improve sales messaging and processes. The role includes attending industry conferences and events and booking in-person demos, with up to 30% travel expected. During the first two weeks, the representative will learn the agency market and its terminology through discovery calls. Over the first three months, they will run outbound sequences and book demos; by months three to six, they are expected to meet targets and begin joining demos and conducting discovery. Within six to twelve months, high performers can run demos end to end and interview for an Account Executive role. PolicyLift describes itself as a VC-backed AI-native growth platform for independent P&C agencies, used by more than 1,000 agents and serving a book of over $1 billion in premium. The position is based in New York City or Tampa.
