About The Position

At Beam, you get to do work that matters for the world. We’re solving the world's toughest social problems with an incredible team, tech and AI. And we’re growing fast 🚀 It’s not easy. Nothing worth doing ever is. Join a company at the forefront of social impact, driving first-of-its-kind positive change. You’ll be part of a high-performance culture where you'll make a huge impact, rapidly progress your career, and truly enjoy your work. From top-tier coaching and personal development budgets to competitive salaries, we take care of everyone who works at Beam. We’ve already seen incredible growth from our Magic Notes product, helping case workers save over 8 hours of admin per week. From social workers and NHS clinicians to mental health practitioners and safeguarding specialists, over 50,000 frontline workers across the UK are now using Magic Notes regularly to deliver faster, more human-centred support. We’re also launching globally, helping practitioners across the USA, EU, and Australia make a difference. About the Role Are you a commercially sharp, high-energy communicator who wants to be at the absolute tip of the spear for a global expansion? We are looking for our Founding US Business Development Representative to be one of the first hires in our newly established American arm. This isn't just a "lead gen" job; it is a career-defining opportunity to build the foundation of our Go-To-Market engine in the United States. As one of our first BDRs on the ground, you will be charged with introducing our AI-powered social impact tools, like Magic Notes, to city, county, and state-level health and human services departments. You’ll be navigating complex public sector landscapes and partnering with mission-driven non-profits to show them how technology can return thousands of hours to their frontline staff. You will have immense autonomy to help shape our US messaging, test new channels, and establish the playbook that future team members will follow. This role is for someone who thrives in the "zero-to-one" phase. It’s about grit, rapid iteration, and the desire to own a territory. You’ll work closely with our Account Executives to break into high-value accounts, acting as the face of Beam to US leaders who are desperate for the innovation we provide. If you are hungry to prove yourself in a high-growth Series A environment, this is your launchpad.

Requirements

  • A Bias-to-Action Catalyst: You don't wait for permission. You have high natural energy and a relentless drive to hit the phones, send the messages, and show up at conferences to make things happen.
  • A Natural Communicator: You are confident, persuasive, and human-centric. You can navigate a conversation with a senior government official or a busy non-profit director with equal ease.
  • A Tech-Savvy Builder: You are comfortable with CRM workflows (HubSpot) and modern sales stacks. You view technology as a lever to make your outreach smarter and more personal.
  • A Resilient Competitor: You have a background in high-performance or metrics-driven environments, in a previous BDR role, or a competitive arena where results were the core focus.
  • Mission-Obsessed: You aren’t just looking for a tech job; you want to work on the world's toughest social problems. You are curious about how AI can be a force for good in the lives of vulnerable people.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience navigating the US public sector
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where the playbook is being written as you go.
  • If you’ve already "carried a bag" or hit a quota in a BDR capacity, you’ll hit the ground running.

Responsibilities

  • Mapping the Landscape: Identifying and researching high-potential government agencies and non-profits that fit our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), ensuring we spend our time where we can have the greatest social impact.
  • Executing Multi-Channel Outbound: Running sophisticated, high-activity campaigns across email, phone, LinkedIn, and video to engage key personas and spark meaningful conversations.
  • Architecting the Handoff: Qualifying inbound interest and booking high-quality Discovery Meetings (NDMs) for our Account Executives, ensuring a seamless experience for our future partners.
  • Strategizing with Sales Leadership: Partnering directly with AEs to build account-based strategies, iterating on messaging in real-time based on what the US market is telling us.
  • Building the Data Foundation: Meticulously tracking all activity and market intelligence in HubSpot to ensure our growth is backed by clean data and actionable insights.
  • Driving Frontline Change: Effectively communicating how our AI tools, like Magic Notes, solve the burnout and backlog crisis for American social workers.
