About The Position

KVC West Virginia is hiring a Foster and Adoptive Care Case Manager in Charleston, West Virginia. The role is part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and supports foster and adoptive families through direct visits, advocacy, and guidance. It suits an independently driven professional who takes initiative to solve problems and works collaboratively. The position is hybrid, with travel throughout the service area.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a social service-related field.
At least two years of experience in children and family services.
Ability to take direction and work independently.
Proficiency in de-escalation techniques and knowledge of child development and trauma.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

Licensure by the West Virginia Board of Social Work Examiners or an equivalent board is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of the West Virginia Medicaid Program and foster care system.

Responsibilities

Act as a treatment team member and provide feedback on client progress.
Conduct home visits at least twice monthly and school visits once monthly.
Attend Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and IEP meetings to advocate for children.
Help build a safe and secure child welfare system using evidence-based practices.
Ensure child placing and Medicaid standards are met through accurate documentation.
Participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation to provide crisis support.
Facilitate supervised visitation and maintain strong relationships with the Department of Human Services (DoHS).
