About The Position

Johnson Controls is hiring a full-time Forklift/Order Picker in Lubbock, Texas. The role is scheduled Monday through Thursday, 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM, with a second-shift premium. The Order Picker reads incoming orders, selects the correct warehouse items, and stages them for delivery. The position also involves operating forklifts and other handling equipment, maintaining inventory accuracy, and completing general warehouse tasks.

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration; noise is usually loud. The position requires regular hand and arm use, standing and walking, and lifting or moving up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Requirements

• Ability to read and write in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification and at least one year of experience.
• Prior experience with standard sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
• Prior experience using a cherry-picker forklift.
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ERP systems, specifically JD Edwards.
• Experience or knowledge of inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
• Collect order notes to fulfill deliveries.
• Select ordered items from storage shelves or rooms using barcodes, serial numbers, or other identifiers.
• Shrink-wrap items securely and place them in envelopes or boxes.
• Operate handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations.
• Load items into delivery vehicles.
• Update stock inventory after retrieving each item.
• Manage stock control, including replenishment and storage.
• Perform other general warehouse duties as necessary.
• Actively participate in high-performance team activities.
