About The Position

Wonderful Citrus is seeking a Forklift Operator to move palletized fruit from set-off and storage areas to truck loading areas and cold storage. The operator may also move filled, palletized fruit from production to storage or truck loading and transfer other commodities when forklift assistance is needed.

The role requires safe and precise forklift operation, adherence to production schedules and conveyance routes, and support for production standard work processes. The operator tracks downtime, work order requests, production results and costs; submits work requests for equipment issues; helps maintain a clean, organized work area; and participates in root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities. The position emphasizes team ownership, accountability, communication, and flexibility to work changing schedules.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write well.
• Precision and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting, especially related to forklifts.
• Ability to interpret oral and written instructions.
• Ability to lead fellow coworkers and promote a teamwork environment.
• Good hand speed and use of both hands to perform the described duties.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties safely and operate a sit-down forklift safely.
• Move palletized fruit from set-off and storage areas to truck loading areas and cold storage.
• Move fruit from the production area and store it properly when required.
• Adhere to the production schedule and conveyance routes within cycle time.
• Support production standard work processes.
• Communicate with other areas about schedules and production-related issues.
• Track downtime, put away work order requests, and track production results and costs.
• Submit work requests for equipment that is not in proper working order and suggest alternative ways to work without that equipment.
• Audit the cleanliness and organization of the area daily.
• Lead root-cause analysis and problem-solving activities.
• Promote ownership, accountability, and teamwork.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
