Forklift Operator - Part-Time - Night Shift

About The Position

XPO is hiring a part-time, night-shift Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load and unload freight on a dock. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as tools and supplies to secure freight in trailers and handheld devices to scan and track shipments. Work takes place for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery. The position is classified as Motor Carrier Act Exempt. Pay starts at $24.37 per hour. Competitive and comprehensive benefits options are available to employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
Be available to work a variety of shifts due to changing freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 70 pounds.
Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
Reach, including above the head; bend; climb; push; pull; twist; squat; and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
Experience loading and unloading trailers.
Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.

Responsibilities

Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
