About The Position

Novolex is hiring a Forklift Operator for its Romeoville facility. The position works an overnight schedule of 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule. Starting pay is $21.32 per hour, plus a $1.50 per hour shift differential. The posting also offers a $750 sign-on bonus, a $250 referral bonus, and eligibility for a pay-for-skill program. The operator handles material movement and inventory-related duties in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment. Equipment and tasks include forklifts, clamp lifts, barcode readers, safety equipment, product repacking and handling, housekeeping, and material reclaim and scrap. The employee must complete the forklift certification program and manual within 90 days of placement and obtain Lockout/Tag Out and forklift-operation certification upon assignment.

Requirements

Proven experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or logistics environment.
Experience operating a sit-down forklift.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Basic knowledge of mathematics.
Basic oral and written communication ability in English.
Self-directed, with the ability to work with little supervision.
Must successfully complete the forklift certification program and its manual within 90 days of placement.
Must obtain Lockout/Tag Out and forklift-operation certification upon assignment.

Nice To Haves

Prior use of RF barcode readers and vehicle-mounted unit (VMU) computer systems.
Push-pull attachment operation experience.
At least one year of recent forklift experience.
Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Use forklifts, clamp lifts, barcode readers, and safety equipment.
Receive and understand material movement orders.
Support cycle counting and physical inventory for non-poly materials and finished goods.
Provide recycling support.
Repack boxes, stencil or relabel boxes, stretch-wrap products, and hand-stack products.
Perform housekeeping duties, inventory consolidation, material reclaim, and scrap handling.
